Director
The Director of Elections
Pursuant to the Carleton University Archery Club Constitution and Elections Code, the Director of Elections is CUAC's designated succession officer. They are responsible for overseeing all elections - both general and special elections - to executive positions, as well as referendums.
The Director of Elections is appointed on an as required basis by the executive. The executive must follow certain rules when appointing the Director of Elections including:
The director of elections must be a neutral party to the election. This means that the director cannot be on staff, vote, run, or take a position on the election.
The staff will first look to club members and if no one is available within the club, the staff will ask CUSA to appoint someone.
All efforts will be made by the executive to appoint someone by consensus. If unable, they must hold a recorded vote and post the results.
While the staff appoints the director, they are independent of the staff and are expected to act at all times in the best interest of the membership as a whole. To ensure this independence:
The staff may not fire the director, in the event of complaint it must be sent to CUSA
The staff cannot change rules about the director (including their duties and powers) or election rules once a director has been appointed
